Provide care for elderly persons at home
Synopsis
The programme, Provide Care for Elderly Persons at Home (Home-Based) is accredited by the Agency for Integrated Care (AIC) in Singapore. It aims to equip learners with the skills and knowledge to care for their elderly loved ones at home. This is conducted one-to-one at the comfort of the learner’s home where the care-recipient is also encouraged to participate in the training.
The prescribed syllabus generally includes providing care for the elderly’s personal hygiene, assisting in safe toileting, preventing pressure sores, assisting in ambulation and range-of-motion activities and performing basic home care and first aid. The training may also be customized according to the care-recipient’s needs and conditions such as Stroke or Diabetes.
This programme is conducted by qualified and registered Singaporean nurses.
